Physical Therapist and Industrial/Organizational Psychologist

The Psychology for the Body Story

Ari Ginsberg, PT, DPT, MSIOP, founded Psychology for the Body in 2020 with the mission of providing psychology focused education and coaching/consulting to rehab clinicians and organizations in order to help them achieve their clinical, professional, and financial goals. Prior to starting Psychology for the Body, Ari was a home health physical therapist in northern New Jersey for 10 years. He quickly developed a reputation in his home health agency for excelling at clinical care and bedside manner/patient satisfaction. In addition to being a dedicated physical therapist, Ari has always been a passionate student and proponent of psychology, and realized that his success at patient care was predicated on his knowledge and application of psychology techniques and strategies. In fact, he believed based on his experience and observations that bedside manner was as significant a factor as clinical skills in facilitating positive patient outcomes. The idea of sharing a formula for maximizing patient satisfaction emerged, and subsequently the first webinar was created; The Science of Bedside Manner and Patient Satisfaction. After the first webinar, Psychology for the Body expanded and developed continuing education courses on other psychology focused PT/OT topics including preventing burnout, leadership training, exercise motivation, and ethics. The webinars are approved physical therapy courses and occupational therapy courses due to review and approval by the NY Board of PT, AOTA, and many of the courses by the NJ Board of PT and Ohio Physical Therapy Association. They are all founded on peer reviewed research and academic literature. Ari is both a Doctor of Physical Therapy and has a Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational psychology. Aside from CEU instruction, Ari is a seasoned coach and organizational consultant helping his clients maximize their patient satisfaction scores, lower turnover rates, and increase job satisfaction. His coaching style is geared toward empowering his clients to choose the best possible course of action based on psychological insight, in order to succeed. Check out the consulting/coaching page if you are interested in those services.
